You are walking through a thick forest, a slight fog covers the ground and a light rain slips through the trees. You know you've never been here before, but it seems odly familiar as if you'd been there in a dream. After walking for a short while you come across a fork in your path. The left path seems warm and dry. The path straight ahead seems to be nothing different than the forest behind you. The right path has somewhat of a seaside mist to it and you can faintly hear the sound of waves crashing againts rocks. which path do you choose? [[left path]] [[straight ahead]] [[right path]]

you walk down the path on the left and as you walk the forest around you slowly disapates and is instead replaced witha blistering tumbleweeds and cacti. In the distance you spot what appears to be a small town. as you approach the town you see a saloon, a clothing store, and a sherriff's office. [[saloon]] [[clothing store]] [[sheriff's office]]

you walk down the path on the right and as you walk the sound of the ocean gets closer, the trees around you are replaced with rocks and the dirt below your feet becomes a soft sand sprinkled with seashells. you glance to your left and see a tropical jungle and to your right you see a vast ocean and in the distance what appears to be a ship. you walk further down the beach and spot a rowboat surrounded by a thick fog. as you approach the rowboat you hear voices emerge from the trees. "yeah i was just trying to relax when- hey who're you?" you turn to your attention to see who's speaking and see a large half-orc holding many bags of fruit and perched upon his shoulders is a very large fluffy black cat. [[introduce yourself]] [[stay quiet]]

you enter the saloon and see a bartender cleaning glasses, and some townspeople scattered around the bar. the bartender greets you and pours you a glass of water. as you sip your water a woman enters the bar and sits down in the stool next to you. "I havent seen you around here before, I'm sheriff Jackie" she reaches out and the two of you shake hands. she turns over to the bartender who is already getting her order ready. "I was thinking about gathering some townsfolk to go up to the mountain later to investigate the recent disapearences." her and the bartender continue to chat when eventually the sheriff turns to you and asks "would you like to join me on the mission up to the mountains? I can pay you handsomly." [[go to mountains]] [[leave the town and continue through the desert]]

you enter the clothing store and see many dresses, vests, and cowboy hats theres a display of boots in one corner and some gun holsters hanging on a rack. as you peruse the many items in the shop, a woman comes in, she's wearing a sherrifs badge and brown leather vest with little frilly bits. coming from the back of the store, the shopkeep exits and greets the woman. "sheriff, you here to pick up those supplies for the search party?" the sheriff nods and the shopkeep returns to the back of the store. the sheriff turns her attention over to you "I havent seen you around here before, I'm Jackie" she reaches out and the two of you shake hands. "y'know, i could use some more folks on my search party later, how'd you like to join? I can pay you handsomly." [[go to mountains]] [[leave the town and continue through the desert]]

you enter the sheriff's office and see many flyers hung up on a bulliton board, an empty jail cell and a woman sitting at a desk furiously typing at a computer. she looks up and is almost jumpscared by your presence. "Jeez, i'm sorry i'm not used to having visitors." she takes a moment to process things before saying "I havent seen you around here before, I'm sheriff Jackie. are you here for the search party?" [[search party?]] [[yeah]] [[leave the town and continue through the desert]]

At sundown you head over to the edge of town where the searchparty is meeting and are introduced to everyone by jackie. you meet greg bartender, Sarah the stablehand, and Jeremy. the four of you all begin the hike over to the mountain, as you're walking you begin to see lights emerge from the mountain. as you get closer you start hearing an enchanting almost musical noise. you must be getting closer. the four of you begin to hike up the mountain the music getting more persistant and the lights getting brighter. eventually you reach a cave and everything is quiet no more noise and no more lights."this must be it." jackie says, she pulls out a lantern to illuminate the cave and the four of you all cautiously enter. as you look around the cave you notice a lot of strange crystals littered on the floor of the cave, you pick one up to investigate closer and notice that it looks like a very large guitar pick. everyone continues further into the cave and eventually you all see a large dragon made of crystal sleeping at the back of the cave surrounded by the crystalized bodies of the missing townsfolk. "HOLY SHIT IT'S A FUCKING DRAGON!" sarah yells. suddenly the dragons eyes snap open and it sees the four of you, the dragon stands up and you're able to get a really good look at it. it's crystal scales glow with irradescence and and within its translucent body you can faintly see the red glow of the beasts heart. you and the others scramble to get away and you manage to hide behind some rocks. as you're hiding you realize your bag was the one with all the weapons, so it's up to you to defeat the dragon. [[gun]] [[crossbow]]

"search party?" you ask. "i've reached out to other towns for help, but recently townspeople have been going missing and there have been reports of strange noises and lights coming from the mountain at night, so i'm building a search party to investigate." [[sound's cool im in]] [[damn that sucks, bye]]

wonderful! we'll leave at sundown. [[go to mountains]]

"sounds cool, i'm in" you say "wonderful! we leave at sundown" jackie replies [[go to mountains]]

"damn that sucks, bye" you say as you proceed to walk out of the sheriffs station and leave the town. [[leave the town and continue through the desert]]

you reach into the bag and pull out a gun, you shakily point it at the faint glow in the dragons chest and shoot, the bullet hits the dragon and the crystal cracks a bit. the dragon turns twoards you and is pissed, as its lunging towards you, you shoot again fully piercing the dragon and shattering it into a glittery pile of crystal shards. everyone cheers and celebrated that you saved the day :D

you reach into the bag and pull out a crossbow, you point it at the faint glow in the dragons chest and shoot, the arrow hits the dragon and the crystal cracks a bit. the dragon turns twoards you and is pissed, as its lunging towards you, you shoot again fully piercing the dragon and shattering it into a glittery pile of crystal shards. everyone cheers and celebrated that you saved the day :D

you introduce yourself to the strangers and they introduce themselves back you learn their names are gorg and ambrose and that they're part of a pirate crew that happens to be looking for a new member since their last one exploded into a puddle of milk. "so what do ya say, wanna join our crew?" gorg says. [[sure!]] [[nah i'm good]]

"sure!" you reply, gorg looks extatic and ushers you into the ominously foggy rowboat, "you're gonna love being a pirate dude it's so fun." the three of you begin rowing out twoards the larger ship in the distance. [[meet the crew]]

"nah i'm good" you reply. "oh ok see ya." gorg says as him and ambrose get into the ominously foggy rowbaot and row away twoards the big pirate ship. [[continue along the beach]]

you nod yes in response and gorg looks extatic and ushers you into the ominously foggy rowboat, "you're gonna love being a pirate dude it's so fun." the three of you begin rowing out twoards the larger ship in the distance. [[meet the crew]]

you shake your head no, "ok see ya." gorg says as him and ambrose get into the ominously foggy rowbaot and row away twoards the big pirate ship. [[continue along the beach]]

after about 10 minuets of furious rowing you all reach the pirate ship gorg drops the bags of fruit onto the deck proudly "scurvy defeated!" he yells. A woman swings down from somewhere and introduces herself, "hi i'm captain theodosia, pleasure to meet ya." the two of you shake hands and see what has to be the last member of the crew steering the boat, before you can introduce yourself you're whisked away for a pirate makover. [[hell yeah makeover]] [[no i wanna keep my boring lame non pirate clothes]]

You're taken into room below deck full of pirate clothes for all occasions and aesthetics, it's absoloutly beautiful and you get to pick out the pirate outfit of your dreams but not without having a fun makeover montage moment and you look amazing. once you do a fashion show for theodosia and gorg you go back above deck. [[back to the deck]]

ok fine you can keep your dumb lame non fun clothes. there WAS a whole fun makeover montage moment that you could've had but you chose to have no fun [[back to the deck]]

back on the deck you're finally introduced to the last member of the crew, emmett. he tells you that the vessle you're on is called "Spooky Fog Machine Halloweentown" and that they're a pirate crew that sails the seas in search of treasure and spooky mysteries to solve. he tells you that the crew recently got word of both an old hidden treasure AND a spooky mystery but the crew can't decide which one to investigate first, it's up to you to be the tie braker. [[spooky mystery]] [[old hidden treasure]]

"spooky mystery" you say, the choice is so easy, the treasure isn't going anywhere probably, but what if the mystery is time sensitive you gotta get on that sooner than later. The whole crew gathers around to heat emmett explain what the mystery is (he's the best at storytime) "ok so, there's a town on an island not too far away from here and recently really weird looking horses have been appearing on the beach and they keep doing strange things like staring into peoples windows in the night and digging large pits in various places. it's real mysterious and spooky we gotta check it out." that is indeed very weird and spooky, the crew sets course for this mysterious town and after about 3 days of travel you reach the town. the crew docks the pirate ship in the port and you all step out onto the docks of garftown. "ok what do you reckon we do first?" theodosia says. [[talk to the mayor]] [[explore the town]]

you wander around the town for a minute before finding the mayors office, when you enter you see a tired old man sitting at a desk with a pinbaord of images of very strange horses with red yarn wrapping around the pins connecting the horses to each other and various other items along with the writing "what does it mean???" and "what are they plotting?" above it. "Hello good sir, we're here to solve the mystery of the weird and creepy horses." theodosia says. the mayor looks up at you and the crew surprised by the sudden appearence of 5 strangers in his office, "
